NOVA Suitelift in Switzerland for accessible education

A recent installation of an outdoor Suite Lift home lift made by NOVA Elevators customer LSM Mobility in Switzerland.

Where

A Suitelift home lift was installed outside a primary school (6 to 12 years old) in the city of Coppet, a few kilometers from Lausanne, overlooking Lake Geneva. The school center was to be expanded to accommodate all students in the area.

Why the Suite Lift elevators?

The need of the client was to make the new floor added to the school building accessible to all users. The architect responsible for the project requested that the system be complete with a metal structure and could fit inside the newly constructed external staircases and at the same time guarantee cabin dimensions and door opening complying with local requirements regarding the accessibility in public places.

NOVA Elevators was able to easily meet all the needs and requirements expressed by the client, designing and creating an external lift with a metal structure and dimensions suitable for transporting disabled persons in wheelchairs.

How was the lift designed and manufactured?

The external lift for people with reduced mobility was built with a panoramic metal structure on three sides and painted in light gray paint (RAL 7035). The dimensions of the cabin 1050×1200 mm and opposite accesses with telescopic doors with sliding doors allow a free passage of 800 mm also access to students with disabilities in wheelchairs.

The walls of the lift cabin were made of PPS12 skinplates, while the gray anti-slip PVC floor. The cabin is also equipped with a handrail that makes the transport of students safer.
