Is it better to install a home lift to remove the architectural barriers or to sell it and move to a new building?
The turning point in terms of accessibility to people’s homes comes from Germany. The German government, through an enhancement of the state welfare, prefers to facilitate the living comfort of citizens in their own houses, by giving state subsidies, rather than having them transferred to a new home.
The key points of the German proposal are:
- Grants up to € 6,250
- Untied from the age of the beneficiary
- Provided to all citizens who want to remove barriers in their home and create greater living comfort
- Also valid for the purchase of a renovated or modernized house to facilitate vertical mobility
